Single-channel 12 volt relay connections are

  • Connect VCC to the 12-volt power supply
  • The control signal is used to control the relay. If the signal will be HIGH (5V) the relay will be switched to NO(Normally Open) and if the signal is LOW (0V) the relay will be switched to Normally Connected (NC)
  • If the control signal is high the led will glow and Vice- versa.

This is a 12V 1-Channel Relay interface board that can be controlled directly by a wide range of microcontrollers such as Arduino, AVR, PIC, ARM, 8051, and so on.

1. Is an optocoupler required for a relay?

  • Yes, Relays usually are driven using optocouplers, which offer isolation between the analog and digital grounds to ensure that switching currents in the relay coils do not affect the noise margin of the digital circuit.

2. What is a 1 channel 5V relay board?

  • The 1 Channel 5V Relay board provides a single relay that can be controlled by any 5V digital output from your microcontroller. Screw terminals are used to access the relay, which can handle up to 2A of current. The status of the relay is indicated by a handy LED.

3. Where can I use the single-channel relay board?

  • The Single Channel Relay board is a convenient board that can be used to control high voltage, and a high current load such as motor, solenoid valves, lamps, and AC loads. It is designed to interface with microcontrollers such as Arduino, PIC and etc.
